Just in time for the holidays! Custom window seat cushions with lipstitch, feather and down pillows.

Had busy week and weekend, but this cushions were made in time for birthday celebration. For outdoor cushions I prefer to do topstitch instead of cord, for easy cleaning.
Performance fabric " inside and out.
Cushions got not only new fabric, but augmentation too!
P.s. due to unexpected health issues, I will be closed for a week. 🤗🙏. Thank you for your patience, I will reply as soon as I get a chance.

Made a slipcover for heirloom rocker. Slipcovers are more complicated than upholstery. Not many upholstery workrooms want to do it. I could not say " No..".
Beth wanted to make her mother-in-law feel comfortable and enjoy the visit💖

This outdoor cushions were recovered in performance fabric. Seats have new "drain dry foam ", (something you can't find in your neighborhood store).

Reuse, repurpose, reupholster!
25 year old custom window treatments were in very good condition!! Dust free and barely any sun damage!! How is it possible? Drapes had lining and interlining! Custom work lasts many decades!
Used it for reupholstering the bench and pillow! Isn't cool??

In one month ( May) we made around 70 cushions, 40 pillows( and many other projects- upholstery, drapes), as our clients were getting ready for the summer and graduation parties. I am exhausted 🥵. That is a lot for very small business ( me and Ande). Starting July 5th, I will work 8am-6 pm (Monday-Friday) and do fabric consultations Saturday- Sunday.

I had a great view this evening! Sunset on west side... Since I don't have time to visit sauna, I had it natural way! 🥵. Haha😂 . This outdoor cushions had a makeover, new style, and augmentation. Webbing was tightened up and self deck gives extra support. My dear clients are ready for the summer!

It was worth waiting! Had a creative boom redesigning this chairs and ottoman! Several factors must be taken in consideration when doing custom reupholstery- proportions, type and thickness of the fabric , style of the frame. Previously, chairs had multiple channels and buttons. Now- fewer but dimensional lines. Velvet doesn't look good as double welt, that's why we created flat tape to eliminate the bulk. Takes a lot of patience and precision.

Friday 7 pm.. still working for another couple hours.. since 5 am.. love it! A lot accomplished today.. But when someone starts bargaining over $25 , I just want to be rude and ask " why we should be paid less for hard custom work?"
When asking discount at the store- sale associate, baker, delivery crew are not paid less than regular. Asking small business for a discount- means we have to do nice work for less... it hurts 😳

It was worth waiting! This heirloom chair and ottoman will last another 50 years! New semi-gloss finish, new inside back design make it more beautiful! A lot of love was involved . Going to post some videos soon!

Do you like to see transformations? This cushions were recovered in beautiful crypton from . They got fat too😅.
The other side, boxing and self welt were done in solid blue that compliments Asian inspired print. When you have a custom work, possibilities are endless!

This custom made blackout drapes let my client sleep an extra hour 🤗. Side and bottom hemmings were done by hand to avoid damage to the fabric texture.

I started upholstery journey 19 years and my business partner Ande- 35 years ago. We never lost love for our trade. Each piece of furniture we work with is unique and sometimes brings "surprises " when it's open. Upholstery is time consuming when doing it right. And we don't do any other way. The result at the end is always worth waiting! This chair will be enjoyed for another 50 years.

Can you see the difference between factory manufacturing and custom?( small business )
Have to see, touch each cushion , and can tell what it wants...maybe thin, maybe thick dacron. 🤔💖😁

Have you heard about "shoe cobbler without shoes"? ..
Well, I lost count how many window treatments I made for other people but never had " real " custom drapes of my own till NOW! When saw this fabric , I simply fell in love with it!
Blackout lining is not only for insulation , but also to see a true color of the fabric.

Why Inna is so(sew) versatile? I have done so many different projects. From simple alterations to upholstery. I love to be creative. Had an unusual request- change the lining in a leather purse.(I did create zipped pocket too)
It was above the expectations!

Hard to believe its the same sectional! It was reupholstered in crypton fabric from . Now back cushions are reversible ( not attached to the back frame) and have butterfly pleats in each corner. As always, seat cushions are wrapped in dacron and backs have extra filling. Awesome transformation, don't you think so?

And here is an egg chair and ottoman! Not a single staple! Sewing by hand requires a lot of patience, which I have plenty! Crypton fabric from in egg shell color fits the modern home now!

happy lunar new year! This gorgeous Asian inspired fabric from was backordered for several months and then days, days !! of stitching by hand drapes for historical house in Bunker hill( WVa), was worth the wait.( client mentioned it several times 😜😘).
You can see on pictures from " before and after ", how window treatments can change the look of the room. The curtain's fabric complement the wall and rug colors, mirror frame and lamps. Barbara and Steve are very, very happy.

Pre- holiday rush is in our workroom ( for several months, to be honest). I apologize for delays responding to emails and messages. We are working for more than 12 hours every week day and weekend... Upholstering, sewing, delivering.. And everything has to be right or we are not happy...

This gorgeous mid century baby left our workroom today 😓.. the color and texture of new fabric from are very close to original. New cushion and padding will last another 50 years 😜.
Some projects take more time than anticipated because we want to make it right. It is worth the wait!

Re - upholstery is not just removing old fabric and putting new one... Attention to details ,like layer of dacron and wood cleaning, is essential. The leather ottoman was reupholstered in crypton fabric. Still can put a tray on top and not worry about the spills.
